Hey guys i broke a belt. and i have a bunch of caked up hardened rubber from belt on CVT and clutch. how do I get that off without damaging parts? Aslo is the nut on the bell reversed thread? thanks

The nut is not a reverse thread. If you can't just scrape it off you might try to find a solvent that softens rubber but doesn't harm the metal parts. If you go that route make sure you pop off all the seals and "good" rubber parts first.

The nut is just very tight, you need a good impact wrench to get it off.

As far as the rubber is concerned, gasoline will soften it up.
Or else acetone.

Taking the whole assembly appart is probably the safest way to clean it up. This way you can also see if nothing has been damaged. That belt packs a big punch when it goes.

Once you take it apart, brake cleaner will make it look new again. You should check the rollers while you are in there. When my belt broke, the rollers got chewed up, I replaced them with sliders from BIGE.
