Now you have seen one. I think in some cases with EFI the ECU may have an issue with blow off because the relief of pressure may create detonation in the sysytem. To much fuel after air is released. There are BOV's for all applications though. I am almost possitive those buggys have it.

ok thank you jojano, I remember asking you If that was a blow off valve before in my turbo thread, but you didnt answer. I have never seen one like that, but I havent seen alot so that doesnt say much. I am used to the universal BOV like on most cars.

I guess those pictures of the turbo kits I posted are just general examples of a turbo kit or something like that..
But if your gonna post an example of your turbo kit wouldnt you want to include everything that should be on the kit? Confused cause there definitely is a lack of a BOV in the pictures of both those turbo kits

Maybe it is there and you are not seeing it. I have a carburated 650 Joyner with a Turbo and everytime I let off the gas you can hear the tell tell hiss of the blow off. But I couldnt point to a peice and tell you where the blow off valve is. I know that some turbos come with a built in blow off valve and a preset non adjustable boost. Maybe the kits you are seeing have that sort of set-up. Mine has an adjustable boost controler but possibly a built in blow off valve. The guy who would know is Scott at unleashed motor sports. I used to think West Coast was a good sorce for info but lately He has not returned messages and some of the info he has put on this sight is questionable. Give Scott at unleashed a call.

Come on Van I said I would try to find you a clutch and I havent , Roketa parts are not easy to find rite now, and what info of mine is questionable, the LGR turbo doesnt have or need a blowoff valve I wont explain why it might be questionable.

WC - Please do explain why there is no need for a blow off valve on the kit you sell. I understand that with draw thru you will blow fuel out the BOV, and you cant run an intercooler either (hence why I went for blow-thru instead), but I can only imagine not having a BOV being very bad for the turbo and possibly the engine. Im no expert but Im pretty sure you dont want boost going to the motor when you decelerate or when you press the clutch to shift gears... yes the turbo is not really 'boosting' then, but it is still spooling down and feeding air to the enigne (gradually less and less)

perhaps thats why you busted up 3rd gear on a shift...boost still spooling the motor while the trans is trying to shift, like holding the gas and trying to shift gears = no good. when you let of the gas and quickly shift gears there is no immediate release of pressure so the turbo has to try and spool down while fighting its own boost that it just created a moment before and is still there cause theres no BOV. back-boosting the turbo causes it to try and spool down too quickly and thats not good for the bearings (Im guessing thats why you choose a high $$$ garret ball-bearing turbo).
Ironically it probably cant spool down quick enough (especially if you do a fast shift) and so theres still a little boost in the system when you change gears...

just a thought, my theory if you will. I would really like to hear your reasons why, Im sure I am probably missing something. pm if you would rather talk in private. thanks

It is not that you cant find this or that part, it is that you dont return calls or messages, Let people know you cant help them and your business will be alot better off. As far as questionable I am talking about power numbers. Not saying they are not true, just hard to believe, thus questionable. You also have a habit of answering questions off the board in PMs so that the rest of us cant benifit from the education. That looks to me that either you dont know, and dont want someone to see that or that you have something to hide. These are just the obsevations of an old man who has been around the block a few times, and not ment as any sort of accusation. Van

I dont return calls? I told you I would try to find you a clutch and I didnt. Power numbers, hard to belive a third party dyno ?
The real problem is no one else will come up with a dyno slip to compair with, I'm still waiting for one on an 800 from anyone.
I answer very few questions off line and if I do thats none of your business, I do that so I dont need to answer fifty other spinoff questions, I deal with enough stuff one on one with my customers. If I tell you exactly how it's all done you sure wont need to buy it from me now will you, Business 101.
I think I will just take a break from answering any questions or posting on here for now and do my own thing for a while.
I have tried to help and helped a heck of a lot of people on here and your opinion of me is questionable wow thats B.S. Van!!

hey calm down man, the reason I asked to talk to him in pm is that I tend to get into long winded conversations and I already badly hijacked this thread (my apologies to the original poster). I also tend to steer clear of contoversy on forums, and I can sense some drama coming on....

No intention to offend. We all have opinions and from dealing with you that is mine. You backed up what I said by saying if you tell us how to do we dont need you. Scott as well as several others dont feel that way. They answer questions without reservation. As far as our dealings, I ask you for something and then followed up twice and never heard back until this posting that you couldnt find it. That to me is poor customer service and makes dealing with you questionable. I have dealt directly with others on this sight and have never had someone not get back to me and then get upset when it was pointed out. Glade for instance has always done a great job! If you want to quit posting on my account I cant stop you but I wish you wouldnt. Just do a better job getting back to your customer and lighten up a little. Van
