Ok fellas, Tom at KidnMe hooked me up. Bought a MRP racing variator, 10G rollers yellow clutch and tourque spring. It is all now installed and man, what a differance. I have a question, possibly a problem...

On the clutch, once we pulled the 3 e clips , then the springs, I noticed it. When the clutch pads/arms come back in, there are 3 bushing things that they slide onto (1 for each pad) these bushings were screwed. 2 were smashed and 1 was broken. How important are these? I put it back together without them, seems to run fine, but if Im going to do major damage, I wanna replace them right away.

I also rejetted the carb. I hasd no issues at all with the stock (112) until i added the variator/clutch stuff. Then it started leaning out bad, so we just drilled it. Its somewhere between a 114 and a 122 best we can tell (used a small bit (.046) and wallowed it out a bit. Runs great now, much more power on the low side. Also drilled some holes into the exhaust.

Any ideas on the bushings would be great, thanks for all the tips and tricks....

Rusty

Those rubber bushings are new on me. I can't see how they would hold up or their purpose but I did notice them in our new clutches.
I've never seen one with them intact, used. We've done a quite a few clutch upgrades and none of the stock ones we changed had them.
Is there any "play" on the arms? Can you "wiggle" them?
I don't think it will be a problem. Heck, I wouldn't doubt if they are in there for shipping! Smile Those Chinese.... Rolling Eyes

No play in it that I noticed. It was impossible to get the new springs on with them in place, but once we saw they were squished and broken, we removed them and the spring fit nicely.

Can you tell me what brand of jet works with the stock carb? The local shop said they had several ypes / threads and wasnt sure what i needed (had already put the carb back together after drilling the main jet) Mikuni, Keihin, or what?

I wanna get a few spares so depending on where I am, if I need to change it, I can....

That variator made a woprld of differance though, I also popped a few holes in the stock exhaust, man o man, its a lot more pepy on the low end

I believe they are to cushion the clutch shoes when they retract. The reaon they look smashed is the clutch springs are pulling the clutch shoes into them. I imagine if you smoke the clutch a few times the heat hardens the rubber, then they crack.

The jets you need are the round slotted ones for Kehin.
We carry a full array of them, just give us a call and we'll set you up.

You need the short round Keihin. There are tall and short.
