The only thing I can think of is that your carburetor is mounted at such an angle that the float allows overfill of the bowl or you have a dirty fuel supply that is blocking the your valve from closing. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

also have you tried leaving the gas cap off of tank,the vent in the cap might not be working.
do that and start it up and see what happens.

I cleaned the tank and intalled a new filter when I changed the carb. The carb is mounted at a slight angle, but I think it's the same angle it was when new - but I'll check, as that wasn't something I had thought of. I'll report back after I have a look at it.
