Greetings I'm looking for some ideas for a windshield and fenders for a 08 Sandsider 650. I have tried a pease of plexi glass for the windshied and broke it tring to cut out a section for a steering wheel relief. So before i try that again I thought I might see if any one else has tried to make something work for a windshield. I have searched the internet for fenders and havent had any luck finding anything at all. I have seen some buggys in here with fenders and wonder if they would bolt on to my SS, if any one has succesfully put fenders on there SS let me know or if you can think of something that might work let me know.

The European version of the SandSpider is called the Matador. It has a forward cowling and fenders. Perhaps Glade at Edgepwr.com can get you these parts.

You should never use plexiglass as windshield due to shatter possibilities. Look for a Lexan sheet to create a screen.

Unless you're going to ride your buggy on the road, I recommend against the windshield. We installed one on ACBlind's Yerf-Dog and from our experience it just gets dirty. We would end up riding with our head stuck out from behind the windscreen just to see.

If you get one, I'd look at getting a wiper installed with a washer as well.

I put a windshield on mine for the cold winter riding. Otherwise I don't use it. I got plexi glass from Home Depot or acrylic or something like that.

That's what we wanted one for as well...

I always thought that the fold-down type like the ones on some golf carts would work well...

Fold it up for when you need, down when you don't.

One last thing: Adam (ACBlind) had his windscreen break apart while we were transporting it on a trailer.

We got ours from either Northern Tool or from.... I don't recall the name.. it has Kart in the name.. Gettin' old sucks... I just had the name.

Good luck,

The fenders on my Sahara were to small, so I took an old
bedliner from a dodge truck and cut new ones. a little bracket
fabrication and walla...new fenders. they work great and look
very durable. very flexable yet rigid. made a cool hardtop for
my rollcage also. You can go by any dealership, most of them
have a used car get ready facility. ck with those guys for old
bedliners that they pulled out of trade in's.

On my SS I got a sheet of Lexan from Home Depot to make my wind screen. I got a paint stripper heat gun & heated up the Lexan & bent it around the ends of my dash which made a nice tight fit. Be carefull though with the heat gun & your right about the dust, it sticks the lexan & you can't see a thing. Still great to have on COLD desert days.
