I need more bottom end power in a 800cc sand viper. Any ideas would be helpful.

Easiest way would be to swap out sprocket or gears for lower overall ratio, or get smaller rear tires.

Not sure If you joyner has the same 800cc engine as other brands, but if your carb uses a vacuum secondary you can remove that and switch to a manual secondary and that will give you a big boost in low end power. Another good one is a tunable spark arresting exhaust like a supertrapp. this allows you to add or remove discs from the end of the muffler which changes the back pressure on the engine, thus changing your powerband. If you run less discs, there is more back pressure, giving you more low end torque. Just these two upgrades alone gave my buggy atleast triple the amount of low end torque you can feel.
But jozner12 is right the absolute best way to get more torque is to get a lower ratio in the gear box. _________________ 2006 Roketa 800cc - K&N + precharger, rejetted, manual carb secondary, Desertkart spark arrest muffler, limiting straps, & lots of repairs...

oh yeah thats right, they are all fuel injected now. then forget everything I said about the carb and secondaries... but a spark arresting exhaust is still a good option for you, allows you to 'move' the powerband by regulating exhaust flow. heres the one I and some others on here run:

antoher way to get a strong low end is to get a cam ground for low end torque... you will lose power up in the high rpm but the cam will provide very strong torque down low. _________________ 2006 Roketa 800cc - K&N + precharger, rejetted, manual carb secondary, Desertkart spark arrest muffler, limiting straps, & lots of repairs...

one more thing i dont know about your buggy but the main problem i have is i broke the out put sheft twice this time i order a open diff 4 it i hope that take care of that problem because i dont ride in the sand dune i trails and first and 2 mabe 3 is all i ever use so the top speed i really dont need it seme like the buggy r good i just have 2 get the set up i wont 4 the kind of riding i do

nope never broke an output shaft cause my buggy came with open diff stock. Your 800cc came with a locked rear diff?? thats the first I have ever heard about an 800cc with a locked rear, I thought all 800cc have open diff... I guess joyner changed them to locked cause of all the complaints of 800cc getting stuck with the open diff...?
funny now that the axles are better six point design, buggys with locked rear are breaking the trans output shafts instead of the axles...
I wonder when are the chinese going to finally put a limited slip diff in there.... Best of both worlds, open diff at low speed (better turn radius) and then becomes a locked diff under high traction situations (no more 'one wheel wonder' going up steep hills). It would be the best all round setup, IMO. _________________ 2006 Roketa 800cc - K&N + precharger, rejetted, manual carb secondary, Desertkart spark arrest muffler, limiting straps, & lots of repairs...
