Sounds like you are having some wire shorting problems? If you are buying that many new batteries and blowing fuses...somethings shorted out somewhere. The clicking problem sounds like your starter solenoid is bad, which may be a result of the shorting problem. Get you a 14-16 gage wire and jump across the starter solenoid (the two large nuts) with your ignition on and see if it starts. If so it's probably the starter solenoid. As for the battery/fuse issue, you need to trace all your wiring to make sure its not grounded out somewhere. Hope this helps. Smile

If you are not riding the buggy much, you need to get a battery tender. This will keep the battery full between rides.

I BOUGHT 3 LAWN & GARDEN BATTERIES FROM ADVANCE AUTO PARTS . ($ 26.00 EACH )
THEY ARE A BIT BIGGER THAN STOCK BATTERY. SO YOU MIGHT HAVE TO MOD A BIT.

STRAPPED ONE ON MY CROSSFIRE.

PUT ONE ON THE SIDE OF MY CHARGER LIKE MULLY DID.
(COVERED IT TOO )
(I THINK IT WAS MULLY )

PUT ONE IN MY 800CC WITH A BIT OF PADDING AROUND IT.

THEY WORK GREAT ... JUST A BIT BIGGER. Twisted Evil

If you buy a dry battery that you have to put the acid in yourself make sure you charge it before you install it. Use a trickle charger less than 2 amps. A battery tender works well. If you add the acid and install the battery and hit the starter before you charge it, it will never charge above about 80%. Using a charger thats too big will also damage the battery.

I think i may have the same problem. I just purchased a new battery, a couple of months ago, but left my hammerhead 150 alone for a couple of weeks, then tried to turn it on and i just heard a rattling sound or tic tic tic sound when i tried to start it. dont know what is wrong with it. I need to get it running asap.
any recommendations?

I put an Interstate Cycletron on mine. it is about 2x taller than stock, but same footprint. i just made a new strap to hold the cover on. I too had the dead battery issue, but since I charged it, no probs. Sounds like what these other guys have already stated, a short. Some are easy to find, some are not. I'd start with a multimeter, set it on resistance measure (the one that checks continuity and beeps) and go to the wires you know should have voltage, put a lead on that wire and a lead to ground, if it beeps, its a short. make sure it is a wire that is s'posed to be 12V or not ground, hate to see someone ground or unground something because they tested with or without ignition on/off.

In short, check each wire with ign. on and off and while turning the key to start. Then I'd go thru and test for voltage where you know you should have it.

(Sorry if it dont make sense, Im not all here right now)
