Sold the Joyner Trooper and got the Polaris RZR this weekend.
Just had way to many problems with Trooper.
Had some great times with prior Joyner buggies, not this one.

Got about 50 miles on RZR so far.

This is the most fun buggy I have ever driven. It just beckons for you to drive
it fast and go crazy, its like a little sport SUV with a V8. ha-ha

No bolts to tighten, no adjustments needed, just fuel up and ride.

American made and it shows in the amazing build quality.

Should have done this from the beginning, and it cost less.

Sorry to hear your bad experience with the Trooper. When everything's right it looks to be a good performer. Hope things turn out better for you with the Rzr. I've had no issues yet with mine and, like you, I really enjoy knowing all I need to do is add gas and go.

The Achilles heel of the Rzr looks to be the air filter system. Check it often to make sure no dust is getting past the filter & into the throttle body.

Yes the Trooper was a nice machine if it would have been more reliable and maybe a bit lighter. Something was breaking on almost every ride.

As far as the RZR air filter I think there blowing it out of proportion. Going in with a white glove test and seeing a little dust.

I don't know about 1st gen1 RZR's but I reached in with a small ratchet and just tightened the clamp up on mine instead of just sliding it on and hoping its sealed.

I'm not sure what to replace the stock filter with when it gets dirty. K&N or UNI?

Great ride.....Just be careful on off camber/ high speed tight turns....

I like what I've seen of the RZR for the desert and the trails in Southern Utah Mountains.... Seems to be a great all around fun machine....and FAST.....

I agree the filter problem is overstated as far as numbers of "bad" machines. Those with dust leaks make a lot of noise and naturally the rest with no issues don't have much to say. I get a tiny bit of fine dust past my filter so I still have some work to do but my wifes (Feb. 08 ) is spotless.

Take a good look at the True Flow filter that's an option from the dealer. Very fine foam and what appears to be a urethane collar. Best made filter for the Rzr IMO.

i've been looking for an utv and i'm torn between a razr and the joyner 650 sand spider. since you have experienced both sides what is your opinion, i'm looking for more woods trail riding and climbing power.. i've watched videos of the joyner on youtube but they are all just people driving around in circles i like to see it limits before i purchase one.

A Razr will do better on trails than the Joyner 650ss.
