Found these new shocks on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROGRESSIVE-413-SERIES-ATV-SHOCK-15-BLACK- 4134019B_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ10066QQihZ003QQitemZ1302 22501355

Never heard of them before but they really improved the ride. I don't feel like the karts bouncing into the air every time I hit a big bump. I got them for 145 plus 20 bucks when he had an auction style listing last week. They seem to be going for 198 plus shipping now. They are 15 in eye to eye and the spring rate is 90/195. Travel is 4.45. Other sizes/rates available. I'm sure they aren't as great as Works, but then they cost less. I tried Blaster's on the back, but at 14" they were to short. Lost ground clearance and the intake tube would hit the back of the seat on compression. The Blasters were a little longer than stock front ones but I stuffed them in there! I had to cut/grind the eyes a bit and compress the spring a little to get the upper A arm on but it was worth the effort. 65 bucks delivered on e-bay for used blasters. $230 total for a good ride.

The eBay pic is small and very dark but I only see one spring with evenly spaced coils...they claim it's a dual-rate spring?

Looks to be a good deal if they perform & hold up well. How's the rebound damping? Does the rear pop back up when you push it down or does it take a second to ease back to normal height?

It does take a bit for the rear to pop back up. I'll try to remember to post a picture. The ebay photo is generic and the shock they sent looks a little different. Har to explain but mine looks like one spring stacked on top of another(end to end) seperated by a spacer.

They look good if they really are shocks and not just springs w/ little or no damping. Can't hurt to try them.

Guy, here's the pic's. The Blasters rub lightly at full extension, but as they compress they move away from the strut. The progressive shock has a smaller diameter wire on the bottom. Never seen a setup like it before. Be interesting to see how it holds up. I beat on it pretty good Sunday night in the whoopdee doos and it stayed on the ground, or at least it felt like it did. It also didn't feel like I got thrown around in the seat either. I can't say for sure if the improvement is due to the front or rear shocks because I did them both at the same time.

Looks like you've made a good find. Dual rate springs are great when they're set up correctly. At normal ride height the soft spring is about halfway compressed and it does all the moving on light bumps--giving a soft ride. On the hard hits it gets squashed and the stiff spring starts moving. Progressive is missing the boat by not showing the correct picture on their auctions and not even showing this particular model shock on their website.

Man those Blaster shocks get around! They're stiff enough for use on the rear of a 150 and now you've shown they can be used successfully on the front of a 250. Good job!

Progressive Suspension is a fairly big name in motorcycle shocks. They have a off-road, atv series but their main market is harleys and cruisers. They are a well made shock and are not junk by any means.
