Hi I have a hammehead 250 ss and was wondering if any one has the exaust kit from hammerhead. It says on the canadian hammerhead site that it doubles the horespower is this true and what are the benefits of buying a performance muffler.

If anyone has an exhaust that will double horsepower, I'll take two please Smile .

Performance exhausts are a good upgrade, but they will not come close to doubling horsepower, and they cost a lot of duckies. Have you changed to a free-flow air filter and changed the main jet in your carb? That will improve your engine performance and save you a couple a hundred dollars. Then if performance is not enough for you, you can start looking at exhausts and electrical componets.

I haven't heard of any exhaust to double horsepower. Rockrunner had pretty much everything covered, but personally I would say CVT mods come before electrical, if not just the slider/variator upgrade.

I also would like to add a plug for the reason I am wrapped up in this wonderful addiction!

Kid N Me Karts carry MRP exhausts for the HH250. We also have the redneck intake and many other power adders.

I have the exhaust you are talking about. I bought it directly from the manufacturer. I am very, very happy with it. After my review of the pipe, and my race results (1st Place), he sold out. He is making more.

At the dealer in canada i was told about a "performance package" that adds 50% power with exhaust in the kit...but not just a muffler..Bill at hammerhead motorsports told me it makes it a whole different machine. Comparable to 500cc quad -

It comes with the exhaust, intake and jets to rejet your carb. The reason for the big power gains is that its choked up to meet california emmisions, and all 3 pieces work together-

Can only intake so much air if its not getting exhausted out the other side...can only exhaust so much if the air isnt getting breathed in.... And of course the extra air needs more fuel or you will run lean. Not good times..
