I will be there with 4 or 5 of my brood......1 pilot, a FL350, and a Blade110...
Really sorry to hear of the lay off. It really never seems to amaze me how money can be spent on some of these pork barrel projects that these politicians can come up with, but when it comes to our most precious commodity(our children) they tend to skimp out, especially when it comes to the teachers who we trust to teach these young people.
Hope everything goes your way and you will be teaching again soon.

Tips on Good Eats are always welcome...
Let us know....
Aside from WETSU's ribs we've all got to figure out what/where to eat. _________________ Chris Dierkens

Aw come on guys...A year from now, you'll never know the difference financially wether you went or not...If you don't spend it for the trip, it will just go somewhere else....This is a once a year event, and if we let $$$$$ interfere with something that happens once a year,we might as well sell out....I could understand more if it was quarterly, or bi-annualy,but everyone should be able to make once a year....
Gas prices are not going down, and if we are going to continue the bashes,we need to start making provisions....If it's too $$$$ this year, then it definately will be next year and the next....
I will personally spend over $400 in fuel during the trip, and I am not rich by a long shot, but I always find ways to do what I really want too.....
See you there!!!

I agree...
RMB has a good excuse, losing his job and all...
The financial difference between $3.00/gallon fuel and $5.00/gallon fuel is really not that big overall. Based on a 1000 mile trip a vehicle getting 10mpg will use 100 gallons. $300 v. $500 is only $200. Most of us should be able to make up that difference somehow.
If money is an issue people can start looking at going in together for those things that will save money... I'd love to be able get together with someone else and split the cost of fuel. I just don't have the room.
A 6x16 foot trailer will only hold the two Yerf-Dogs which are 5x8 each. If I could find a way to hold another buggy we may be able to get another person (and their stuff) into our little SUV.
We can use that same imagination that we use on the buggies to find a way to make these trips happen.
The fun starts 4 weeks from Thursday for us..... We can't wait.. _________________ Chris Dierkens

well take 2 more off the list, Gas prices are killing me.
Darn it Eric... I really wanted to meet you at this meet...
Diesel here in CT is $4.999 a gallon... Might as well call it $5/gallon. I won't be taking any of the trucks... My XC90 gets about 20 mpg so it won't be too bad for the 2300 mile round trip.
I had budgeted $500 for diesel fuel, the whole trip will cost me about $435 or so for gasoline.
If you take the truck you can take somebody with you, put akart in the truck, and split the fuel. 250-350 each! _________________ 05 Jehm Adventure Buggy 250cc, Torque Spring, 22.5gr Rollers, Modified Roll Cage, K&N, 21x7x10 & 22x11x10 Trac Star Radials, Vapor, Body Panels, 40T Spkt

As of right now I need the truck for work. That's why I bought the SUV to begin with. It got too complicated trying to schedule work around my play time.
Now, having said that... There may be a need to deliver some equipment to Western Kansas. If that happens I may be able to fit three (3) buggies on the 24-foot trailer with the equipment and I'd HAVE to take the F350. The buggies could help secure the equipment.
That would be one long ride... 2525 miles to the clients, then to the park... I've got my fingers crossed that it will still all work out. _________________ Chris Dierkens

You can load your Yerfs sideways and still stay under the 8.5' maximum width. With a 6' wide deck you can either let the wheels hang over the edge or bolt on 8' planks to keep the frames off the trailer. Team Farm was able to take a Joyner 650SS, Honda CFR150, Carter GTR250 and Carter GSR150 on a 20'x8' trailer by loading the the two Carters sideways. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250
