| < Meet and Greet ~ Passenger size? |

Hello my husband and I are looking at getting a gokart so I can ride along with the kids when he goes dirt biking. The question none of the dealers/manufacturers will answer (liability issues I'm sure) is how small of a passenger can ride with you? How small does a 4 point harness adjust? Please answer soon I can't wait to be able to hit the trails again!
Thanks

We have a large one year old (he wears 2T clothes) and we have neices and nephews from 2 - 18, but some of the girls are very small in stature. We will probably leave our son with grandma at least one more summer.

OK. I'll tell you this. My 5 year old was not even close to being a tight fit in the stock seat belts. They just kinda bounced around him. I replaced the stock seat belts with Joyner belts and those are tighter. If you're looking for a seat belt to keep a 2 year old strapped in tight, I don't know if you'll find one stock on a buggy. You may want to fabricate something to get a tighter fit or buy a junior racing seat belt. That said, I wouldn't recommend having a 2 year old riding with you. Lots of people on here have replaced the stock seat belts because, well to put it plainly, they really suck. With a little ingenuity and about $70 bucks, you could probably come up with something that works for a really little person. Some netting on the cage would be extra security. Hopefully some others will chime in here with what they've done. It would not deter me from buying a buggy, though, but I can understand why a dealer would not want to give you reassurance that a 2 year old would be safe in a buggy. Sorry for the diarrhea of the keyboard, but that's my 2 cents.
Rock on. _________________ Ron

LOL I went ahead and bought one, I couldn't wait! We will see what we can work with once we get it here. I understand the dealers, when we bought a 50cc dirt bike for a nephew the dealer told us that they could only recommend it for drivers 16 years or older. LOL, could you imagine a 16 year old on a little 50. I was not sure about the younger kids and if they can’t ride for a year or two that’s the way it is. I just wanted to know and modification suggestions. Thanks I’ll look in to some aftermarket belts.
