Congragulations Rick! Most people here (including myself) would be soooooo happy just getting one Joyner 650, but you bought 2(two)?!?!?!
Now thats jumping in with both feet

All or nothin is what I always say. Why do something halfa$$ed. Give it your best shot or don't do it at all. I had just sold my full mud drag car so I had the cash, its something I have been wanting so why not just do it. I bought two so me and the lil woman could play on one (one with the turbo of course) and my father and mother could play on the other if the decide to go occasionally. To tell yeah the truth I think it will be just me and the ole man most of the time but thats cool it will give us alittle extra elbow room over a single seater. That is the way is was for the first trip out, and will probably be the norm. By the way anybody know of anyone that makes an aftermarket drive axle for these. After a few hours I broke the drivers side axle on the turbo one. but it was a blast up till then. No regrets!
I found a buggy a guy was parting out, so I scored all of the stuff I needed. I thought it was just the axle...think again. The wheel bearings where dust, and from the axle flopping around inside the hub it chewed off all the splines inside of the the hub, and some how the brake pads fell out during the tow to flat ground so I could pull the buggy up onto the trailer, so I needed to replace those as well. When I screw something up I do it first class. Anyways I got all of the parts I needed and its back together. Going out again tomorrow, lets see what I break this time...!
Well the axle held up this time, but the rear rim and tire didn't. I thought it would be cool if I talked my mom and the little woman to go riding with me and pops this time. It took some persuading to get them outta bed early "to go get dirty" but they both finally did. I told 'em don't worry we'll take it easy at first until you get used to it then "maybe" we try some more crazy type of stuff. So naturally I revved it up, made sure the boost was nice and high and side stepped the clutch and went straight into some cyclone donuts just to break the ice. That got me smacked and called .. well lets just say the south end of a north bound donkey, but oh well. well after a few hours we made our way to the sand dunes. We played chase abit thats when I spotted this nice sharp dune to blast off the top of. So i putted around saw a part of it where some large rocks sticking through and said to myself launch that way. Well as I rounded the dune and matted it I lost my take off spot and skied off the top of the dune at about 25-30 mph. the buggy flew awesome, then the nose started to come down and I saw that there was nothing on the other side of the dune but quite a few feet below us was the stupid rocks I was trying to avoid. Well its was a hard landing to say the least. My 27" ITP tire exploded on impact and I taco'ed the rim, luckily it was the stock rim not the ITP, she got alittle banged up, bouncing her helmet off of the headrest, (she still is complaining about a head ache). And since we didn't take a spare with us that was the end of the ride. The women had fun though and will probably be alittle easier to coax into going out again, as long as we keep the buggies alittle closer to terra firma. So now its more money to fix the stuff I broke because I made a bad decision, oh well if you don't break it you need to ride it alittle harder.
Well I got a new rim and tire, but I don't know when the next time I'll get to go out riding again is, but at least the buggies are both ready to rock.
\New rim and tire $172, able to go out and break something else...PRICELESS!
Dang, not one but two Joyners. Jealous! _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html
