A Trooper in KY? You aren't planning to take it in the woods I hope? Vanet is right these big-cc buggies are W-I-D-E and don't fit narrow woods trails very well. Where I like to ride even my Rzr gets scuffed up. I already have the ultimate buggy with a wonderful suspension and great power. Faster, safer and more fun than a Rzr but at 58" (narrower than most 800 and larger buggies) it gets hung up in the trees a lot.
If your KY riding will be mostly truck trails and ATV parks then a Trooper will rock. _________________ _________________

Maybe I'll just stick with my original idea and just get the kids one... I always liked the idea of the family getting together and riding. I was drawn to the custom Rhinos with the seats mounted in back, but have really lost interest in their looks.
I'll keep my eye out for a nice 250cc sized one with about 35hp strapped to it

I just wanted you to focus on matching the buggy to the area you ride most. If you like tight trails in woods--or making you own trails--then you need a narrow machine. If you plan to ride 2-track established trails a wider buggy would be fine. A Rhino, Prowler or Teryx modified to a 4-seater is a great family trail cruiser. You're adding a fair amount of weight high above center with the seats & rollcage so stability and speed will suffer a little. One of those modifieds or a 4 (or more) seat Ranger will take the family offroad in a single vehicle. Lots of families enjoy offroading in a Jeep or old Samurai, too.
If the price tag of a Rhino doesn't scare you off then just buy my 800EFI Ridge Runner Compared to the Joyners you've looked at it's narrower than even a 250 (58" vs. 60"). _________________ _________________

No, you just stated the obvious, I appericate that. Been watching some vids of the RZRs this AM.. Nice rides, always liked them probably would have had one already but when I was on the hunt no one around here had them in stock. Not sure if that is still the case or not. Just dropped 7k on a drumkit, this outta go over well with the wife that I want to drop 13k on a RZR
Well they sticker at $10,299 although some dealers are gouging due to the popularity. Find a dealer that's selling for list (or below--it's not hard to find a bargain on one in the midwest) and don't put a bunch of options on right away. Sneak those wheels & tires in the door after the inital purchase wears off

Been hittin' up ebay motors. There are some very nice used ones out there. Probably get a better deal buying new however. Seems like if someone has one and they put some wheels and tires on they are asking a premium for them.

I dont know where you guys are looking but out west they are going used for 11500 to 13000 plus, stock. If you try to buy one that has had some stuff added to it just mortgage the house. Before diesel price went nuts it was smart for west-coasters to buy from the east and midwest and transport it. Buy it for sticker & no waiting. Now it's still cheaper but some of the shine has worn off that deal.
