That's looking sweet, Jamie! Can you extend the length of your rack so the heims are in line with the A-arm pivots? That, and raising the rack so the tierods are parallel to the arms should clean up that bumpsteer.

Thats it Guy!!!! Thank you for the tip. I will do that tomorrow morning. I am hoping that moving the heims out so that they are at the pivot point of the arms will fix the problem. I can't really move the steering rack up, it will be in the way of the pedals. I in front, outside of the frame. I could just make a bumper to protect it.

I did talk to fabber a little while back and he did say the same thing you just said. We talked for a while and I must have forgotten some of the conversation.

Thanks, I didn't know how I was going to fix that... Very Happy

Oh Bug prolly filled your head with all sorts of nonsense about "Ackerman", kingpin inclination, contact patch, etc and there wasn't any more room for the bumpsteer basics!

WOW Jamie! You are doing a most excellant job of building that buggy. I remember watching you work on a few buggys at the 2006 Bash and knew you were talented then, but this you are doing now is just amazing. You are the man Wink

I can get it to start right up, runs fine, but when I turn off the key to kill the engine it blows the fuse. Now I can start it up and run it for 30 seconds or so then turn if off with out blowing the fuse. It is only when I gas it for a few minutes then turn it off, by by fuse.

Any ideas at all here. I'm lost.

How do you have the kill/ignition switch wired? It sounds like you are shorting your battery to ground when you kill the engine or you are shorting the battery while running and then notice the fuse blown upon shutdown. There are a couple ways to kill the engine:
1. Remove power from CDI
2. Short flywheel magnet pickup to ground
3. Apply ground to CDI kill pin

I like your frame design, but have one question. Why did you add the nerf bars? I can see needing it if you will race the buggy so the wheels will not lock with others. However on trails, eliminating these will allow you to climb over rocks and roots with less hangs.

double check the wires at the ignition switch and the switch itself. the switch may have a short in it

I like the looks of the nerf bars and you could imagine how hard it would be for a 6 year old to climb it this thing. Now he can use them as a step.

Can I remove the fuse while it is running or will it kill the engine?

Super nice job, on the buggy, I like it alot, As far as
the wiring go's, use the wiring diagram from your other
buggy and trace everything back, make sure you did'nt
cross something by mistake.
