These are the stock 650 and 800cc Joyner rims that I have had my sand tires on for a while. Got tired of adding and removing almost 3" of spacers because of the offset. They are a 5.5/2.5 offset. But the inside of the rim was never finished. Now it is polished and rotated. And now it's a 2.5/5.5 offset. And the distance from the shock is 3" compared to under 1/2". We'll see what the sand thinks next week.

thats a nice ride all the way around Cool

i have one question though, looking at your pictures do you have any trouble with your alternator taking sand in it and eating it up,just curious.

Thanks

I am pretty sure it does take in all types of dirt, sand and mud.
But for the third season, so far, natures elements haven't been an issue.

You wiil want to be carefull not to bend the rear arms with all of that extra load on the outside of the arm. Be sure to box in the arms

That photo doesn't justify how bad I have bent the control-arm "mounts" on the frame of the buggy. Those are actually new control arms that are being used for now until my original set gets boxed in. Witch I thought would be ok to get rid of the tow out and didn't. I put a level on the front tubing after remounting the control arm and realized that the outside mount is over a 1/4" higher than the inner. That sucks. I know how to cut but not weld.

Newer control arms didn't help. Now would it be worth it to buy a new GK-32 frame for $450 or a welding machine for around the same? I like the idea of starting fresh with the newer style frame and get rid of the older rusty one. We'll see I will probably wind up doing both. Laughing

I know that feeling to well, after my first race with the welded up rear arms i had the same problem with the frame. We set it on a jig table and got all back in order and welded more tube braces to the frame.

One thing nice about a new frame, you can get it blasted and do all of the mods you want, then get good powder coat put back on. Good luck bud , and have fun. Thats what we do this for.

My plan exactly

In my case, maybe youself also, I have pretty much two of everything incl. tires, rims, front and rear control arms, shocks. To be able to still run the older buggy, move and build the newer one, until the r&r of the motor. First....... clean out the garrage and get a shed. Laughing Here we go Laughing
