Got my exhaust Friday finally got it on this morning. Sounds good feels like it made a difference. Top speed is still 47 but it feels like it gets there quicker. Only made one run with the stock carb and a really dirty air filter. Replaced the carb with one from a 300EX this afternoon. Needs to be dialed in but other than a slight hesitation right off idle when I snap the throttle it runs strong.

The pipe is pretty nice. I had to do a little work with a file to get it to fit the studs on the head. A couple of things that concern me it sticks out the back about 6" further than the stock one and it needs another support on the muffler. The extra length won't be a problem until somebody rear ends me again.

The main reason I got this pipe was to get rid of the foot long piece of flex pipe with a 180 bend in it. Not much restriction in the stock muffler but flex pipe is evil. This is the first step in my plan. Next comes some head work and a reground cam.

Seems I was one upped by ATL Top Dog right off the line. I can say the pipe and carb I have are a big improvement over stock. the engine is much more responsive, almost too much. At part throttle small bumps make my foot move and the whole buggy jerks. I didn't have this problem before with the sluggish response of the stock carb. Still need to tune the carb, waiting for $day so I can order a jet kit.

I'll add another bracket with the muffler kit. I've had mine on so long, I forgot how long it was.
Let me get some more in and I'll send you one!

Got my jet kit for the 300EX carb and put it in today, also put on a 3" K&N cone filter on the carb. Top speed went from 47 to 51. I am running the stock rollers and rear tires. I think there is more where that came from, still needs some tweaking. I have been doing my speed runs on the same stretch of dirt path every time to keep things fair. So far pipe+carb+K&N=4mph. Better acceleration too but I don't have any good way to measure it.

G-Ray, mine got very responsive after the pipe too. I know what you mean. My foot will bounce the gas pedal when riding over the ruff stuff. I'm thinking about modding a skateboard wheel at the top of the pedal to see if that helps.

that's where I got the idea. Don't know if it would help or not. What do you think BigE?

it should help keep your foot on the throttle cause the roller is bigger than a pedal and will slide when the foot moves
