I'm looking to purchase a buggy for my wife - any recommendations for purchase in the Phx area that also services them too. Or if I purchase a used, where would I take it for a service review and service after the fact. Are there any choices other than Chinese models?
I cannot say for sure what models of buggies can be found in the Phoenix area. With a city that large there is bound to be a wide selection. I do know that the national distribution center for Joyner is located in Tempe. They service all their machines along with the dealers that are located there.
Just how well you get treated with service and after sale support is going to vary from dealer to dealer with any brand that you settle on. Do your homework on the models you are interested in and the dealer also. This forum is a good spot to do some checking. Ask questions about the brands. Ask about the dealers. Undoubtedly, some one here will have some first hand knowledge. Even second hand knowledge is good.
At his time, the chinese buggies are all the rage. There are some really good machines out there(Twister Hammerhead, Joyner, Blade, Carter, Kinroad). These are not necessarily in order of quality but they are good ones to start with. You will have good Distributor support with these particular brands.
We sell Roketa and service all makes. The guy down the street (Hood Rat Motorsports) sells Joyner and I can get them from him. _________________ John

awesome buggy is in Tuscon. Kabra Motosports on Dobson and Main in Mesa has always done me right. On one buggy purchase they went way out of there way to fix an electrical problem. Dont know if it is still in effect but when I bought my 250 from them they offered a 2 year warranty. Talk to Al. _________________ 2005 Joyner 650 Turbo

I'm now rather shy from the Chinese models, the Hammerhead I had froze up on me after two years and the Roketa 250 we got had problems immediately from the get go, although I think the biggest problem was Liberty Motorsports where we bought it from in the first place. I did not realize Joyner was a Chinese model. I'm still looking but thanks for all the info. At least I have some good dealers to choose from. _________________ 2006 Dodge 2500 Cummings

I agree with you about Liberty Motorsports. Bunch of crooks who couldnt care less about what happens once you walk out the door. As far as chinese goes not all are the same. Any buggy you find for less than 25000.00 and some for more, are going to be chinese. Some are made better than others though and that what you have to figure out from this web sight, which ones. _________________ 2005 Joyner 650 Turbo

My friend bought a Joyner 250 Sand Viper from the distributor in Mesa (not Tempe) as someone mentioned. The voltage regulator quit, which ruined his battery and the muffler started rattling and self-destructed. This dealer would not cover anything under warranty. Not impressed with the service there. _________________ ALZWEL (Frank)

Joyner is now on Priest Rd in tempe, not mesa. I understand they used to be in mesa but it hasnt been for a year or so. I have had good success with them on getting parts and covering there warranty. Did your friend modify the exhaust or abuse something. Why wouldnt they cover it? Van _________________ 2005 Joyner 650 Turbo

OK, I did not know that they have moved to Tempe. This friend did not abuse the buggy or anything like that. When all this happened (all within a week or so), he called them to see if it was covered. He told me that they informed him that none of it was covered under the warranty. I was kind of surprised since he spent an extra $400 on some upgraded tires when he bought the buggy. That's all I know. _________________ ALZWEL (Frank)
