My buggy has a remote choke control, which is nothing more than a cable with a knob at the control box leading going under the buggy and linking to choke arm. This was stuck and would not move the choke and made a cold engine not start.I came to find out the cable had corroded inside the casing and disconnected the cable from the choke arm.I now can move the choke arm by fingertip and if I use a screwdriver and put it in between the choke arm and an intake tube I can get the engine to fire right right away and just remove the screwdriver when no longer needed. It feels like freeing the choke has given the engine more power. This is on a Robin/Subaru 265cc.Will it hurt any thing running on a free floating choke? mancoman

i don't think it will hurt mancoman if it was me and if it could be done after getting it started just put a small piece of wire on it and wire the choke open,so maybe it won't vibrate shut while riding.that should get you by until you get that cable free up or get a new won.
i'm sure it did make it run better to get the choke open after starting it,have you checked your spark plug i bet it is really black from running rich.
when are you going to put some pictures up of your buggy with the robin/subaru engine.
also how about some pictures of it rooting and boring through the trails, we like pictures Laughing Laughing
