My son's SLGK-150B 150CC cart has low hours and now will not start. Horn and signals work, so there is power. when i turn the key there is a faint whirring noise coming from the black 'fuse box' on the rear. The fuse is good. I'm not very 'mechanical' and am at a loss. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

JB i have the same buggy maybe i can help some not the best on electrical but i have had a few problems to,just might be a loose wire.
in the electrical box track down the 2 small wires coming from the starter solenoid.i marked it in yellow make sure these connectors are good and tight.the one marked red the starter solenoid make sure the 2 big wires are tight to.be careful don't over tighten and brake lug loose from solenoid, also watch when checking these wire to see if they are tight with a wrench or socket not to ground them to metal.the one closest to the buggy is hot all the time.
then go to battery track black ground wire to cvt cover and make sure they are tight to, also it wouldn't be a bad idea to take them off and see if there is still paint on the cvt cover.if there is paint there scrape it off put all the wires back on and tighten down.
the turn signal, horn and brake light works off the battery, they will work all the time if battery is charge up.
sorry for being so windy but check these things out first.
hope this helps
pud

have a drink for me to, i have been messing with lights on my buggy all afternoon, checked all the wiring and rectifier and all it was was blowed bulbs d'oh!
have you tried adjusting the cable back at the reverse box.
and loosen the cable up some to see if it will go into forward.

If you are going through them so quick you might want to consider getting a solenoid for an older Ford and use it. It is designed to handle a lot of amps through the contacts and that is what usually goes wrong is the internal contact burn up. You can purchase one for around $12-$15. The last time I had to buy one.
