Gotcha. I just was looking at the pic and it looked like it hadn't be touched.

that just means im that good at making it look stock Cool shes a sleeper buddy. from the outside she looks stock but the internals are all made of raw power. Twisted Evil i didnt want to spend 200 bucks on an aftermarket pipe so i made my own and gutted everything. i wanst so sure about the drilling holes in the muffler like most people do.....

Heres a thought, check the tank for contaminents, looking for silicate(Hope thats spelled right) build up, kinda salt like white hard granual, is there a in tank filter? change the fuel filter again, take the one off carefully, without spilling it's contents, and pour it on a peice of colored construction paper, from the inlet side, it's a lot of work just to verify a concern, you could just dump the tank and clean it real good and install a new filter, but then you would really never know.

I have a Carter Talon DLX 150 2R, with the same problem. I've cleaned the carb twice with no luck. After reading this post I am going to re-clean it again. Does anyone know exactly what jet to focus on that causes this? I'd kind of like a direction to be focused on when I try this again.
Thanks, Ryan

to be honest i just went through it all again very very well. i removed the floats, every screw, needle, and jet. i checked the diaphram for any holes or tears as well. just when i put it back together again it seemed to have worked fine.

i did have one question about one screw i pulled out though. it looked like a jet but it was long and had real small holes in it on the side of the shaft when i shot cleaner inside it came out the small holes. now when i reinstalled it i did not tighten it all the way down. i put it in all the way and backed it off 1/4 turn. what is that screw and is it supposed to be all the way in tight?

stang i think you are talking about your air fuel mixture screw
turn out for gas
turn in for air
try 1 1/2 turn out and see how it does might have to adjust when engine is warm up good
when adjusted good they start easier helps get your pilot jet tuned in for good idle and up to a 1/4 of your throttle
hope that makes sence to you pud

I believe you are talking about the idle jet. It should be snug.

I did a full rebuild of the carb again tonight. I went crazy on the carb cleaner and compressed air.....still no change. I'm suffering from the same symptoms that 65stangguy had, no power, sputters when cruising (which feels like half speed and half RPM). There is no power when I try to climb the small incline just to get back into the garage. A friend of mine suggested a bad exhaust....sound like the culprit? I need to come up with something to bolt on to provide a bit of back pressure to figure out if it is the exhaust or not. Anyone know what else I can try? What might be the problem?

Thanks, Ryan
