No swelling or leaks evident on brake lines. I've checked these a few times. If you pump the brakes a couple of times they hold a bit. What does this indicate?
profaci from what you have said about pumping the the brakes a couple of times it sounds like a bad master cylinder. there is a piston and a rubber cup in master cylinder sounds like the rubber cup is bad sort of by passing. is there any brake fluid leaking from the back of the master cylinder that the rod goes into? i have had them to go bad on vehicles and hydraulic clutchs and rebuilt them but i don't know if you can get kits for these or not
