im lost here guys. last weekend my buggy could pull through anything. today i pull it out for a trial run before tomorrow and it cant even pull its own weight. im frickin lost as to what could be the issue here. heres what happend. i pull it off the trailer, drive down my driveway, and when i hit the road i punch it. NO GO POWER....this little sucker would not go any faster than maybe 5MPH. i heard a miss, like a spudder. so i changed my plug to a new one. same thing only worse, now it wouldnt move. the engine would wind up but the buggy wouldnt go anywhere. took the carb all apart cleaned it all out. put a 115 main jet in because my plug was black. tone it down a little...now the idle and full throttle sound like the engine is running good. i just have no speed or get up what so ever. the clutch shouldnt be bad already. ive only ridden 3 times since i put it on. and its the prodigy clutch with the prodigy bell. please help.....tomorrow is muddbogg day

Did you check the rollers/sliders while you were in there? _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html

i did not check the sliders last night. it took me about 2 hours to get the kevlar belt on when i first got it so i didnt want to remove it. i could remove the clutch bell without taking off the belt. its a bit harder to check the sliders. im still taking it out the muddbogg today so we will see how things work out. _________________ Blade 150DX

when i saw this i was thinking on the same line as jabo.sounds like slider has hung or got twisted around some way.
how was the belt when you pulled cvt cover off was it at the lowest point on variator and the highest on clutch pulley.
also might want to check and see if your fuel enrichment (choke) is working and shutting the extra gas off when the engine warms up.the black plug reading sounds like that.
i know others might disagree with this but make yourself a wedge to open up that clutch pulley so you can get that belt on saves a heck of alot of time fooling with it.i made one out of a piece of pressure treated deck board, won't splinter.
than just TAP IT IN EASY WITH SMALL HAMMER between pulley.
they will open up put belt in pulley then on variator, put fan on tighten up,take wedge out, then spin cvt system by hand to make sure belt is in the highest place on clutch.
here is what i done just don't make wedge to thin, don't want it going into the crack of the pulley, works good for me.

ok....so i took the buggy out to the muddbogg today even though it wasnt working well. i replaced the fuel filter, spark plug (again) and checked the sliders. everything was good. i took the carb apart again for the 3rd time cleaned out everything i could take off and put it back together again. then it worked well. kicked butt all day. for some reason i think my carb does have a air/fuel screw on it. but its in a very very hard place to get to. i had to modifiy a stubby flat head to fit where the screw is. i ran the carb real real rich, but it ran very well today. i changed my main jet to a 115 instead of the 118. i think it works better. _________________ Blade 150DX

i already gutted it out when i made my own pipe at work. i went from stock.....to 1 inch stainless steel hyd line. i gutted the muffler out and welded the cap back on. its open good. i ran straight 9-12 inches of pipe with no muffler last sunday. alot of torque but way to loud for the kids. _________________ Blade 150DX
