Service Manual! Very funny, I have a SUNL. So just to be clear, as I don't claim to be a mechanic, if I remove the connector from the voltage regulator the red wire should show 12 volts, what should the white/yellow wires show (14 volts?). This I assume is with the buggy running (obviously)? If it is in fact a bad stator, how big of a deal is the replacement? Where is it? Under the flywheel/fan? Any special tools needed? So have we ruled out the voltage regulator?

Download the the one for the Yerf-Dog at SpiderboxPerformance.com It is not an extact match, but there is enough information to make it worth your time.

The stator output may be as high as 18 VAC depending on how many poles yours ha and how much load is currently on it.

You will need a flywheel puller to replace a stator. It looks like ScooterAssassins.com is the best place to get one.

Once you have that service manual downloaded, go through the electrical troubleshooting section and let us know what you find.

pud I checked all connections and everything seems good. At the regulator the red wire shows 12+ volts. The yellow and white show nothing with the buggy running. In the electrical box I took the connector apart where the stator wires connect to the wire going to the regulator. That connector has a green, yellow and white wire verus a black, yellow and white. I assume the green is the ground. With a voltage meter I measured zero volts at the yellow or white using the green white and then the engine as a gound (engine running). What voltage do you get at yours? If the stator is in fact bad, what is involved in its replacement? If I don't change the stator, other than not powering the lights and charging the battery, what other problems could this cause? On the cvt, I got it all apart and found very little dust. It was very clean inside. I put it all back together and still the same low end vibration.

dang profaci that don't sound good i have my buggy parked with the lawnmowers so i had to get a trouble light to see with
so i could see the muti-meter,,, had it set at 200
i left wires plugged into rectifier regulator with buggy idling
red wire 12.7 to 12.8
yellow wire 1.6 to 1.7
white wire 2.4 to 2.5
if it is bad you will need a flywheel puller as ruby has said
and also i would download the manual to, they are a big help on working on your buggy.
hopefully you still have your other motors that went bad and the stator will work off of one of them, maybe compare them fisrt.that way you won't be out anything just a puller and a little down time.
i feel for you ,you have had some bad luck

How do I know what flywheel puller to get? The scooterassassins.com site doesn't come up. Where can I get this? Does NAPA carry it?

Thanks on the flywheel puller info. What about the stator? Will anyone work or do I have to get one specific for the LIFAN GY6 I have? What do you guys recommend and from who?

Is this one better/different from the magneto stator on ebay currently at $45? Please let me know soon as there is only a few hours left on the bid.

The one I posted is a higher output 8-pole version. There are less expensive 6-pole versions available. Make sure they have the correct connector to go to your harness. If you end up with the wrong connector, PM me for a replacement connector.
