I get concerned every time I was the mud off my karts, if they are going to start. This is especially true on the 250cc since every time I get the engine area wet, it seems the starter isn't working right. Sometimes it is if it has shorted and it doesn't turn over and then after a couple of tries it starts and after I let the kart warm and heat dry it seems fine. Is this normal? Does anyone else have a problem after bathing their kart? Do you have to be careful when cleaning the karts around the engine area? _________________ 2006 SUNL 150B, uni filter, lifan engine, 10 gram rollers, synthetic oil, ngk iridium plug, trailtech computer/ 2007 LANCE 250cc Charger 2 Seater, shaft drive, synthetic engine & gear oil, ngk iridium plug, trailtech computer
check to make sure your cables are good, sometimes if water gets into a "bad" spot it can cause it not to make good contact _________________ built 90 yj, 07 carter 250
I cover the electrical box and the carb and the hole in the air box.And hand clean those areas. The less you get these areas wet the better.Who wants problems later down the road.James _________________ REPLACEMENT YERF DOG GX 150 BALL JOINTS 25.00 EACH

I have a Crossfire 150 GY6 and I washed it the other day for the first time. The starter no longer works.....coincidence?? I also have a kick starter so I have not checked the problem. This is a brand new motor with only 10 hrs. Starters are cheap but I'll post what I find when I have a chance.
I always keep my engine running when I powerwash. _________________ TJ HH 150GT 2006

Well,
I checked my buggy today, and as my luck goes, it was a coincidence. It had nothing to do with the washing. I did some major jumping last weekend and apparently busted a cell in my battery and did some damage to the head pipe on the exhaust.
