i've been looking the toyota tacomas because i see them everywhere and they got good reviews from consumer reports. I dont really have a price range just a good truck at a reasonably low price (idk prob less than 3000). If you have a truck you really like or know of one that is good please chime in. _________________ 2004 Yerf-Dog 4209-stock...for now

The way gas is getting you better look for the best fuel economy.Or you can get a Chevy 2500Hd with a 8.1 and go broke putting gas in it.(Like Me).James _________________ *2 SETS LEFT*REPLACEMENT YERF DOG GX 150 BALL JOINTS 99.00 A SET

Usually you can get the best deal on an off brand, because no one likes them. ie Isuzu, misibishi, mazda etc. Most small trucks today are well enginered and get great gas milage. I have two different people who work for me who have isuzus and have more than 250000 miles and they are still running strong. My brother has a little mitsu and swears by it. One thing for sure the only Toyota you will get in that price range is going to be very very well used.

For 16 years, I had a 2.6 liter fuel injected Mazda 4x4 that was very reliable (mid 80's through early 90's body style). I replaced the clutch once due to towing too many 5000 lb loads over the mountains with 31" tall tires, otherwise it was regular wear items. The only reason I sold it was that it couldn't pull my current 11,500 lb toy hauler. The fuel injected engine was introduced in 1989 and also used in MPVs, before that Mazda used a carbureted 2.6 liter from Mitsubishi. You can find the Mazda 2600 FI 4x2's for a very good price if you want to save some money. Mazda also had a 2 liter engine in the 2x4's - Although this engine was reliable, it was weak and required timing belt replacements. Both 4x4 and 4x2 models had a low first gear and a high reverse.
My father purchased a Bronco II the same year with the 3 liter V6 and had many more problems with his truck although it saw much less work than I put my truck through. The manual was geared way too high and required too much clutch slip to get moving. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650
