hi,
does anyone know if its possible to put the 3 cylinder 800cc or 1100cc engines in a 650cc Joyner buggy, i think the transmissions are the same so my drive shafts should fit with out to much modification I'm just wondering if it would drop right in?
cheers, Les.

The 800 will bolt up but dont think the 1100 will.
Obviousely you will need motor mounts, wiring, exhaust mods and so on .

I have heard that Joyner is scrapping the 650 engine in the Sand Spider and will be replacing it with the 800, keeping it in the same spider frame style. This may make your mod easier - hopefully they will sell a kit. I also heard they will be introducing a 500cc engine in the current 250cc sand viper frame. (info from my dealer; I did not hear either of these from Joyner myself).

Neither the 800cc the 1000cc or the 1100cc chery will bolt up to a 650 tranny. Also the 1100 is different then the 800cc or the 1000cc. The 800cc (most of them) and the 1000cc will exchange.

Just checked with joyner and the two engine mods mentioned are not in the works. I was told the 650 spider is still there best selling unit. Also the 250 and the 150 viper may both be going away dependind on sales in near future.

I have both sitting in front of me and they are not the same. Not even close. Maybe there is an 800 that is the same as the 650. But the 2 in front of me will not exchange.

Yep your correct Van, Sorry for the missinformation.
I was told that one of my customers did this swap with out changing the tranz.
I did some research and they are differant for sure.
Again Sorry for the bad info.
