Larry...you have the earlier model of performance CDI. The new ones are adjustable. They have a little adjustment on the back of the unit.

jackster, I dont know if the cdi will work on the gtr. how many wires go to it and what do the plugs look like.

The GTRs use identical plugs to a GY6 CDI, but electrically they are incompatible. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

I reveived Bige's high voltage coil and adjustable CDI
The coil solved another problem i had
Playing with the CDI now. the little screw comes set in one end position.
I figured that is at no timing advance.
I turned it almost 1/4 turn and will leave it there for awhile.
Jetting the carb from 110 to 130 didn't work.
I also messed with the iddle jet (oops) I drilled it and needles to say it is too big.
I was able to reduce it again ( don't ask me how lol) and it is working.
running too rich at iddle now
Maybee the reason why the 130 main jet didn't work.
anyway, i ordered the 30mm pump carb from blade last tuesday and will install as soon as it arrives.
I seen on his website that is he out of stock now, just wondering if he has shipped mine yet.
