I blew the seal on one of my front shocks. My question is should I replace the pair with stock Joyner shocks or switch to an aftermarket shock. If aftermarket, does anyone have any suggestions on the brand and size.

I can get Fox shocks for the 250 sand viper. They are spendy but you will never have trouble with them again.

Look on Ebay, I got a pair of Fox remote reservoir shocks off an Artic cat snowmobile for $250.00 & they work great. I reused the stock springs.

Thanks for the idea.

Do you know what model and year were those shocks off of? I am having a hard time finding the length of the shocks listed on Ebay.

You said you kept the stock coils; You don’t think they are too hard? The rebound on mine is really fast and I thought I was going to have to change the springs also. Maybe a better shock will make the difference.

Did you have to make any modifications to the mounts?

The stock springs seem fine your rebound problem was due to the failed shocks. The mounts work fine butt you could move them & get more travel, (I did enlarge the holes & added longer grade 8 bolts for limit straps) mine are slightly compressed but seem to work good. You could also look for a shorter travel shock witch would work, just keep looking on Ebay for different lengths.
