All OHV registered vehicles are required to have insurance.
Does anyone know what the required kind of insurance is? _________________ Stock GK25A

I don't know who told you that, but they are wrong. Division 16.5 of the California Vehicle Code deals with OHVs and there is not one single mention of insurance. If you finance an OHV your bank will likely require insurance tho. _________________ Carter Brothers gtr 300

I don't know about a requirement, but I have my buggies and trailer insured with State Farm. Liability, collision and comprehensive coverage. Pretty fair premiums too.

I got my list on new laws for 2008 and did see anything about insurance on HOVs. I did just get a new 2008 vehicle code at work so I will look it up and let you know for sure.

Never heard of that one either. To the state off roading is an inherently risky action anyways, and that it is your choice to do it. My brother is a lawyer, and he said that personal liability suits are usually thrown out court because of the inherent risk. Suits that involved operator DUI can be heard, but they tend not to get very far. _________________ Yes, I'm the guy people hate every two years.
