I'm having a bit of trouble figuring this sucker out. I was told this was pretty much and plug and go install. Problem is this:

My stock setup has a green and yellow wire coming out of the choke (fuel enrichment thingy). Then there's a green/blue striped wire coming off the heat alarm switch. These three wires go into some black heat shrink and then the yellow doesn't go into the red plug. It goes into another yellow wire with quick connection. The green (from the choke) and the green/blue from the heat alarm switch then go into a red plug.

The new carb has the same green and yellow wires, but they both go into the red plug. Not sure if I should start splicing or if the original set up wasn't right.

This is the way I spliced in on the new one, from the
red plug, cut the grn wire, hook temp sensor wire to it.
on the other end of the cut grn wire, hook up your
yellow wire.

Thanks eggy. I guess I'll start splicing. Did you get yours fired up?

Yes I did, lol, with no filter it runs pretty good, but when
I put the filter on it bogs down, I guess I need a bigger
jet, bigger gas line too, I noticed my bell housing is
wobbleling a little, might have to order a new one,
OH GLADE......... Laughing

There is no polarity on the wires for the automatic choke. You can hook it up any way you wish and it should run just fine.

Bob.....Try playing with you air mixture adjustment on the carb. They are a bit touchy but once you get it right it will run great. Larger fuel line will help a bunch. See the thread started by Allbones(larry).

I was thinking the same thing with the choke wires, but
I went ahead and wired them up like the old set up.
As far as the mixture screw, once that thing is
installed, I can't even see the adjustment screw, because
the temp sensor unit is in the way, I went with 1/4" ID
all the way to the carb.

I went with a 1/4 inch, too. I hope to get it installed on Friday. There's a group ride (quads) on Saturday and I hope I'm dialed in for that. This is my first time out with this group and I don't want to look like a drive a cheap chinese buggy Very Happy

(I'll take the Eiger, just in case)

Quick update. Got the carb installed after some trial and error with the wiring. The nmad heat sensor kept going off the first two times, so I made some changes and I think it's right. I put a 135 jet in and ran it for a while. I think it's a bit lean. I didn't have a new plug, had to take a wire brush to my existing plug then take a few runs. The plug looked a little on the lighter side. Not sure if it has to do with the temps here (35 degrees). It's definately a bit more punchy on the throttle. It idles great after I backed out the idle mixture a full turn. I hit a top speed of 45 and got there a little bit quicker. I may go up a bit more in the main jet. It did backfire after I shut it off. I think that means lean??? Thoughts??

Eggy, I had the same problem with the idle mixture. I had to take the carb off the intake to adjust it. Pain in the arse.
