Update time. After riding for 5 hours last weekend, I have manifested a gearbox leak. It's leaking from the main drive shaft seal on the gear box. My plans are to buy every shaft seal from NAPA by cross referencing the part numbers on them. The headlights still suck! Need to replace them but not a real concern yet.
Does anyone have a LOUD sqkeak/ squeal when braking? Sounds like the pads are very dry when applied? _________________ 08' GK-13"B" (Same as Plus; better Radiator)

Yeah I had that brake issue. One day I disassembled the rear brakes and found the hardware and caliper were sticking so I applied some silicone brake lube to pad contact points, caliper pins, bushings and have had great brake performance since! Also make sure the e brake adjustment is good so the brakes dont drag.

They have something at the auto parts store that you can put on the pads to stop the noise. Jack up each tire and make sure they spin freely. You don't want to mask a possible problem.

| If the extra outlet on the rad is like most there is a inlet on the carb where a hose connects the outlet on the rad to the inlet on the carb. its supposed to help keep the carb from freezeing up in winter and help the fuel atomize in the summer. |
All that has happened to my carb is that it has turned a puke green and got all chunky where that radiator fitting comes into it. Can I just plug it somehow and remove it. It sounds like it does not really do anything. I have a GK-13A and live in So. California so don't have too much of the winter freeze. Thanks, Brendan

I plugged mine with a carberator plug/ cap. You can get a carb plug kit from any auto store and they have different sizes. Just use the one that fits the tightest, I live in North TX and it does freeze here, but I have not had any problems with it at all.
As far as the brake noise... I have the brake pad silencer stuff you smear on the pads and then light on fire to dry. And I have the brake pad glue that sets the brake pad in place so there is not extra play. But really, I need to jack it up and see if the caliper is not siezed up. I still have not had a chance to work on it yet. _________________ 08' GK-13"B" (Same as Plus; better Radiator)
