Whats the point of riding if you don't want to get dirty? just as long as I don't frame out in it... The back of that thing is still heavy underwater, I know I've done it.

Day 2 & 3 now in the books, my short summary would have to be... this sport/hobby of ours is far more fun, when joined by others & there is no such thing as having Too Much Fun.
All is now; too quiet on the farm. My wife & I want our guests to know it was a privilage & honor to have met you all, thanks for making this such a fabulous w/end. We feel we made new (life long) friends, with some very good people.
Is now official, this will be an annual Easter event @ Team Farm Headquarters. If all had 1/2 of much fun as my Family & I, then this was a huge success.

Well, Home safe. Rainy on the drive back but a great time. Before anything else:Again thank Team Farm for the greatest hospitality. Yall I have never met people so frendly and took great care of all of us!! Fed us till we poped and GREAT company. The MX track was great and the dunes were too. I will leave more details latter but it was the best ride I have had in a while. We lost some of the pic and video we shot, not sure how, but still got a bunch. I will try and post some.

In typical fashion, we had too much fun to take pictures.

This was the first chance I had to to really open up the Joyner 650. Not only did we hit some soft sand where I was able to dig huge holes with the stock tires, I zipped across woops at 40+ mph smiling away until one of the overhead light lens shattered - No worries, I collected the glass zipped on.

I was about switch buggies with Team Farm and check out his GTR, when a guy in quad approached with a sheepish look - "We got our truck stuck in the sand. Is that your white Dodge up there?". Team Farm looked at me shaking his head but I told the "kid" we would take a look. Four young guys has driven their F-150 down into a soft sand wash pulling a trailer with four quads and a couple of pit bikes. They thought everything was fine until they tried to leave and almost buried thier truck to the frame rails. They had never driven in sand before and did not even have a shovel with them. We provided the guys with two shovels to start digging out their truck, while I had another one unload the trailer. Once the trailer was empty, I hooked it up the Joyner 650 and traversed the loosed hill with trailer in tow up to the hard pack. Team Farm has 4-door long-bed diesel that we were not going to get stuck trying to help these guys so we scouted out a managable traverse and aired the tires down on Dodge and F-150. Team Farm hooked up a meaty tractor chain back to back. As Team Farm pulled with the Dodge, I was inside the F-150 keeping the tires moving while steering the front out of the holes. Once on some more packed sand on the traverse we unhitched and I drove the F-150 up the traverse in in reverse until they were on hard pack. By this time it was 6PM - If it wasn't for us, these guys would have been camping in their dug in truck that night.

The second day we were able to open up the throttle on "ditch roads" dirt and gravel roads along irrigation canals. Most of this ride around 40 mph but there were a couple stretches where I accelerated to 55 mph with throttle left over and two people in the buggy. Fourth gear is definitely tall - I was not using it until I was at 45 mph on flats. Once in fourth, the buggy was cruising along under 3000 RPM as if engaging overdrive in car. The suspension is wonderful compared to any other buggy I have driven - The front just floats over bumps and the rear is tight enough that it does not induce too much body roll when cornering hard.

Team Farm has his own buggy/MX track. The Joyner was able to make all but one sharp hairpin turn, but had no problem tearing up the turns when you kicked out the back end with a little application of gas.

The Yerf-Dog 150 did great on the track, but the same hairpin the Joyner had trouble with caused trouble for the Yerf. Team Farm's Carter 150 has no problems with this track and his GTR250 has modified steering arm placement allowing him sharper turning than stock. The 11-pole stator on the Yerf running four 55w lights was almost as bright as the three Joyner 150w lights and definitely outshined the Carter stock lighting.

The second day with the Yerf proved frustrating. When I would open the Yerf up on the ditch roads at full throttle, the float bowl would empty and the Yerf would stall until the bowl refilled. I am running a 150 main jet and hope it just needs a float adjustment and not a rework of the fuel delivery system. It was interesting that the Yerf loved the track with on/off gas, but it could not handle pedal-mashed-to-the-floor extended runs.

I will let Team Farm and De4Lee tell their side of the story. It's time for bed.

wow pghruby sounds like you guys had some serious fun.
that sand sure can create problems. did the young men appreciate the help?
also you didn't get a small hole in your intake that could have cause the problem on your yerf

The Yerf ran fine with short runs of full throttle, but would start starving for fuel after about 1/4 mile. I found I could let up the gas when I felt hestitation, run at half throttle for a while then run at full again. I'm pretty sure it is float level adjustment because the large capacity clear fuel filter still had gas visible when the Yerf would die. Punching the gas around the track never produced this problem (this is more typical riding for me) so the float could have been out of adjustment since new.
