Newest issue of Side x Side Action magazine comes out with the review of the 2008 SXS Shootout.

Check out the vehicle lineup and who faired well.
Joyner was there along side the top dogs of the industry!

I believe you can check out the issue online here

Congratulations to Joyner...way to hang with the big boys Very Happy

I have always said that trooper is cool Wink If I were in the market, I would be looking at it and the RZR. Both have significant differences from the standard Rhino and other similar UTV's to offer serious consideration.

All I can say is those troopers must be built like tanks! At a tested weight of 1871lbs it is fully 650lbs heavier than the Rhino 700. In fact, it is heavier than any other side x side in the overall test.
I guess the larger 1100cc engine makes up for it.

Just an observation, but I wonder where all that weight comes from. Hopefully it is structural. You guys that own these...any thoughts on this?

Then again...maybe it is a misprint?

Regarding my above post...I see the Trooper has a much larger wheel base than the other machines. 98"..and a longer OAL. So it would seem the Trooper is just a much larger machine than the others. That would account for some of the weight in question. It surely makes more sense to me now anyway.

later...mick

Mike C. I did not think the conclusion correlated with the data. The conclusions more matched who did the most advertising in the mag. There were too many subjective statements made by the testers justifying their picks, thus the article could have been better if based on the data. IMHO!

The Trooper has the most weight and a 4 speed transmission. I think it would be cool in AZ if it were street legal. But in CA with that size of vehicle I would be looking at something already with a license plate. Its basically a small truck with ATV tires. I vote for the RZR or the Rhino.
