Actually they took about three hours to do .
What I like over the ball joints is I will do this once, ball joint's no mater how good they are they still wear out.
I do see your point but most of us have a saw ,grinder, and a welder dont we?
Even if you just replace the stock joint they are welded in the plate so your going to need to cut and weld anyhow, heck your almost there already..

I didn't realize you have to go that far to replace a joint. My original joints were held by a spring clip and the replacements bolted in without welding. That's what I get for assuming... _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

The ball joints have plastic cups inside them so it's a great idea to weld them in .
I wonder why they wear out so soon??

You might consider creating a retrofit kit that would allow replacing the joint without welding. Guys with welded joints should chime in whether they would buy something like that. Even quality joints will wear out or get damaged at some point - It would be nice to be able to carry a spare that could be bolted in. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650
