Can someone give me a list of 250cc Buggies that have locking rear diff, then a list with Posi Track and a list with CVT. Can you also include wich one is better between the Posi Track or CVT as far as reliability and performance. I know that Lockers are the best for off road. But I can only find a couple. Thank you.

If you think about it.....Is there a buggy out there that has anything but a locked differential? It does not matter if they are independent chain drive they are still coming off a central drive point.

I wish there was a limited slip different. That way you would not scuff the rear tires so much when you turn on pavement or even hard pack.

Not to sound too mechanically DEclined, but I'm not exactly sure what a locked rear differential is. The HH250SS goes from the trans to a sprocket via a chain. That sprocket has rear drive shafts attached to it, moving both wheels at the same time. I believe that is a locked differential.

Lift the rear of the buggy off the ground. Put it in Forward without starting the buggy. Manually rotate the left side or right side rear tire (I forget wich one), if both wheels spin... locking diff, if one spins to the opposite direction than the other..... limited slip, if only the one you are spinning spins and the same happens on the other side..... open rear end I believe.

I know the HH250 SS has locking rear and hi/lo.

What do you mean by swing? Swing arm dual chain (wich is usually locking rear diff)? Do you have a 250cc? How deap is the sand compared to "Little Sahara", Olklahoma? If you have not been there, google it and look at pics. I can say I have problems on some dunes with my KFX 400cc quad on knubby tires, but I can handle anything with paddle tires. Do you think this could be the same aspect for most dunes in a 250cc Buggy.

Hey geek, what type of paddles did you have? I was going to go with directionals that spit the sand outward to reduce bogging. Of course straight puddles would suck down power 10x more than directional.
