Ya I know, I can put the blade in the silverado, and put
the joyner in the trailer with the gen, welder, and all of
the camping gear I need for a trip. Plus sleep in it,
instead of a tent.
FYI: Door hinges make strong pivot for a folding bunk. In my last garage, my work bench folded against wall and the door hinges had no problem supporting more than my weight and plenty of pounding _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

Okay, I was going to write something cute about that last statement, but it's just not fair hitting a slow pitch like that out of the park... _________________ Chris Dierkens

Eggy, I am from Joliet too. Have you tried Funk's trailers in Morris, Illinois? That is where I bought my trailer from. They have a huge selection on hand. Don't know the prices on the type of trailer you like, but they should be competitive.
Yes lonerider, I bought my Tritan trailer there five
years ago, thats probably where i'll go get another one.
I went to the one just east of town on rt6, there
better priced, than the place down town,I think it's a
matter of city tax added to the price. Where you at
in Joliet? PM me, maybe we can hook up and go riding
some time,what do you ride?

I got my 5X10 trailer from TCS. I live it!!! I paid 900 for it, they threw in a spare tire and holder for free, and the worst part about it was that it was all mesh... To fix that, I bought a few peices of plywood and bloted it to the trialer bed!!! lol... I added LED lights as soon as I broke my first light backing up. &^%$*^% rock wall....

Hi Folks, first time poster, long time lurker. I've learned a lot from this great forum.
I just placed an order for a new 6X14 trailer and have a couple of days to decide whether to go with wire mesh floor or wood floor. I was leaning toward wire mesh because it is 300 pounds lighter and I will be moving the trailer by hand when storing. I also figured wire mesh would be better for hosing down the vehicles while on the trailer, that wood would be slippery with mud, etc. John's post has me second guessing myself.
Why the preference for wood? Does anyone prefer wire mesh? If so, why? Thanks in advance!

I have 1x6 planks to allow for extremely heavy loads with small footprints to be distributed across the frame. If you are just hauling your buggies most of the time, the "landscaper" type mesh floor trailer works well for the reasons you pointed out. You can always cut sheets of plywood and lay them in if you are carrying these types of loads. Examples would be large wood or metal working equipment or heavy unboxed appliances with feet. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

My 5x8 has a wire mesh floor and it is very light. If I only had one machine to move around, this trailer is perfect. I move it by hand quite a bit. I don't know how much heavier a 6x14 would be. I pull my 5x8 around with the quad at times. _________________ Ron
