I have a suggestion and this is just food for thought.
Steve Hopkins has done a great thing for the buggy world!
Sue, his wife, I'm sure, was devastated at their loss.
Although I wholeheartedly agree with the Hopkins foundation, I think we may better serve Steve's family if we make the check to a particular center in their name. In that situation, I for one would really appreciate all the "love" but I would also want to move on as well, (if it were me).
I am sure Jamie can put these donations in their name without constantly reminding them of their loss.
Again, I may be way off base here so it's just a suggestion.
That's a good idea. I was thinking of something like a scholorship fund of some sort. Maybe going to someone who wants to be a pharmacist.
Much like you said, I think I'd rather leave that up to the family or someone close enough to know what the right thing to do is. Someone like Jamie. It's such a personal thing that I can't begin to know what it feels like at any stage.
I do know that I'd like to continue to do something. _________________ Chris Dierkens

I was hoping someone would say this. That is what I was trying to say in my earlier posts. I just wasn't as poetic. Thanks Tom. _________________ Twister modded 150

Good job Tom! I think the scholorship fund would be a great idea. But I also think that the plaque should be done for at least this year. Just to let Sue know how grateful we are to her for sharing Steve with all of us!
I would also like say to all of you..... you are probably the greatest bunch of people that I have had the pleasure to meet or have had correspondance with in a long time. You have renewed my faith in mankind. Thanks for the memories, both past and future!

That's what's so great about what Steve started... It's amazing the breadth of mankind he touched and as long as we can keep this uncomplicated and civil it will keep going. The pay-it-foward scenario DOES work... BNews is proof of that. _________________ Chris Dierkens
