Today my daughters boyfriend came over (2nd time to the house) and they went for a buggy ride, well it wasnt no time they walked to the house and said they had a flat tire on the front, yep it was flat from where they hit a tree and bent the rim! I got the rim beat back and holding air and off they went for round 2. It wasnt an hour when here they came back to the house waliking (with real scared looks on ther face) telling me the front tire came off!!! Went back down to see what the heck was going on, yep the tire was off alright, they hit another tree but this time managed to rip the A-arm completely off the frame, snapped the shock and there is alot of frame damage! After some work I drove the 3 wheeled buggy home my temp was at an all time high! (oh the kids are fine from the buggy wreck) To make a long story short they have a whole new out look in life and the stuff I pay for! I though my kid had a little more sence than that tooo! I guess the bright side is other than they where not hurt I can fix the buggy myself and the only cost will be buying a new front shock!
I'm glad someone else feels my pain. My 17 year old daughter looses all her smarts when there are boys around, they took my 250 and the wifes 150 out for a spin monday, they found the only mud in three counties. the went thru a brand new subdivison slung mud all over the new pavement.
the young lad and I had a talk out in my shop, I showed him what the pressure washer was and how much pressure a vise can put out after I told him I was not scared to go back to prison if he ever did something that stupid again.
The young man did a pretty good job at getting some of the mud up. but not with a pressure washer, he used a flat nosed shovel
and by btw, as long as you dont leave a mark its ok. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I hear ya, after giving them (more so Him) a good talk. They are going to be the ones to lend a helping hand in the repairs.

all jokes aside i'm all for cracking the whip when need to be
i sure took my share of a$$ beatings at home and school
growing up, i'm not saying they ever helped me but they never hurt me either.

She's scared to death to bring home a boy. I've been coaching basketball for 13+ years now and she's seen my yell at both boys and girls. So she knows I'm not afraid to yell at other kids.
She talks to her mom about the boy-thing.
I'm still confused of how can someone with a 3.8 gpa, on high-honor roll and all, make such ignorant choices sometimes. I guess it's a hormonal thing and/or a parent thing.

The only time I get frustrated is when people exhibit signs of being both book smart and having common sense and then they go do something really stupid.
You think you're on track with them and then all of a sudden they do several stupid things in a row. It's almost like they do it on purpose. I see this more often nowadays not only with teenagers, but adults as well.
I'm trying to learn how to deal with it. I punish the bad behavior, praise the good behavior, and try to explain the reason why they should be doing things correctly.
The one thing I don't do is ignore the bad behavior. There are too many parents that do that now. _________________ Chris Dierkens
