For the National BN.com Buggy Bash of 2008, we would like to have a few "organized" events go on throughout the 4 day bash!

Obviously, a lot of people just want to ride and explore on the first day, and get settled in... I think for day 1, maybe a few minutes before dark, we could have a meeting and have introductions... Everyone put faces to names and such?

As per Day 2, 3, 4, list what you want!!! I think the group pic should be on SATURDAY (day 3), as that is most likely the day the most people will be in attendance... Sunday many have to leave, so an AM photo would be advisable....

Drag races... Hill Climbs... Rally Race... Buggy Show-and-Tell... Mods: How To... Group Photo... Regional Photos... Moment for our late founder... Maybe a dedication or something? Any contests?????

Anyone interestd in any of those???? lol... I know a lot of people are... Maybe we could set up a time table and do a couple a day and participation will determine if the event takes place?

Post your opinions, idea's, ANYTHING!!!!!!

alot of what we can do will depend on the terrain available. Are there hills to climb, suitable for a decent hill climb? A place for drags? etc. Someone familiar with the park could help here. Since it is a state park , we will have to share with everyone in the park. I don't know if we could take over a section for some of the events. Again, someone familiar needs to sing out. I personally enjoy them all and am willing to help with what ever the members agree on. I do think a general get together and intro is a must. This would be a good time for the group photo-op. while everyone is rounded up in one place.

The Drag racing last year was a BIG hit- I'm not sure if there is an area like Paddy's had with the raised berms but I am sure we can find an area and make that happen.

I'll put my name in the hat to help find the area/coordinate the drag racing event. Dancing

There are several Large flat areas that people drag race at. Often 10-12 deep. It is not clearly marked, just a "line em up and go" kind of thing.

There are bermed sand "circles" that you could probably do some timed lap kind of things...but it would depend upon how busy the park is. I do not know if we could have sole use of them.

Lots of hill climbs, several that will make the 400 hill seem timid. Mild to knarley, what ever you want.
Some steep and tall, One that I have yet to crest with the 800, but armed with my lower gears...I am ready to try again Very Happy

there will be fewer people there on friday(at least it was on the fridays i have been there ) so if there is something we want to do without a lot of people around that would be the time and as far as races there are places for drag races and places to do laps and put our driving skills to the test

I have 2 suggestions,
First, make a 1 hr timeframe to get everyone together for the group shot halfway into the bash so everyone is there and let everyone know where and when well ahead of time. A way to do this would be to set up a grill and cook hotdogs or something and get everyone together at once for food and pictures. If everyone there pitches in $10, you can have a heck of a party.
Secondly, Charlie is right, someone close by the site will have to scope out a couple hills and a good drag race area and point them out to people as they come in. If you wait for everyone to show up to decide, it will be too disorganized to pull it off. Draw a map and make photocopies with the schedule on the back. Open explore on day one, open explore in the AM on day 2 then hill climb challenges in the afternoon then get everyone together later in the day for the photo op and hotdogs and as it gets dark, pull out the generators and construction lights and drag race! We did night drags at the NE rally in 06 and it's very exciting!
Most importantly, try to keep everyone within eye site of each other when they camp!!!! This will make for a better bash as everyone will be able to mingle rather than just wave as they blow past you!
Wish I could make this one guys but the racing league and the buggy shop is taking all my time and money right now! Smile
Have a blast and don't forget the pictures!!!! Twisted Evil

And how about a pull? Like a truck or trailer or something like that.
