Newark gets a bad wrap. If you set aside all the car jackings, the shootings, murders, auto theft, and muggings it's not half bad. That's what I heard they mayor say one day.

Our school isnt the worst, that is Berringer.... BUT, our neighborhood is second worst in the city... My twin brother works in the "South Ward" as a firefighter... That is the worst section... I am in the north ward, which is second worse... Then there is the Iron Bound, or Downtown where the brand new arena is for the jersey devils and all that.... That area is decent.... a LOT LESS crime, but still has car theft pretty often, and car break-ins... Not a lot of vilent crime down there.... I love working with a lot of these kids, they really want to learn this stuff and do something outside of Newark... But like TH said, Newark has a bad rap, and it is really hard to get a kid with a Newark address a job outside of Newark...
Other than that... If I dont have things go my way this year into next... I promised my wife we are going south for good!!!!
