Found a great deal on Amazon.com for plastic toboggans! I bought 4 footers last year for 14 bucks plus tax at Toys R Us, and I think they were getting 24 or 29 for 6 footers last year. Six footers are now 18 bucks plus shipping on Amazon. The shipping gets cheaper if you order more than 1. Warm them up with a torpedo heater or heat gun and they trim easily w/ a utility knife. If you just cut the bottom out you get a piece about 14 1/2 inches wide by almost 5 1/2 feet long. Or you can cut the 4 corners, warm the plastic, flatten the sides, and get a with of 20-25 inches. This is great stuff. It stays stong and flexible enough in COLD temps that a bunch of kids sliding down hill can't break it. You have no shot at breaking it in the woods in the summer!! I made body pannels for the 250 last winter and they held up fine. Currently working on fenders for the 250 and fenders & body pannels for the 125.
Pic's to follow.

Ironic that you can buy a manufactured product that has passed thru a chain of distribution ("middle men") and retailers for less than you could buy the same size piece of plastic sheet from a wholesaler. Only in America...LOL

Now if I could just find a big flat sheet of thick poly to make a skidplate for my Rzr...

If only you were close to a place that made bedliners! You might be able to talk them out of a piece before they stamp it. Actually, come to think of it, what about getting 1 or 2 bedliner tailgate covers from a wrecking yard? I believe I've seen some of the cheaper ones that are relatively flat.

That would end up being like what the Rzr comes with stock. I'm looking to make one from 3/16 or 1/4" polyethylene because it's tough & slippery. But I've heard a 4X8 sheet is way over $100. That's kinda nuts for milkjug plastic, IMO.

Found a trash can that was perfect to use to make splash shields to go between the tires and the engine compartment. Screwed it to the fender brackets.

i like that im4seven, everybody seems to come up with good ideas for there finders.
i made my rear finders out of chevron 55 gal. oil drum i had
i was in a hurry didn't make brackets like you made witch are nice.
the finders that came with my buggy didn't stop anything
didn't mind the mud so much but those small rocks that get stuck in the tread then fly out and hit me didn't feel fill good Laughing

I just chalked it up to that Southern Accent.

My brother is always saying wash with an R in it. You know warsh my buggy. When I ask him to spell it, he spells it w-a-s-h. He says the R is silent.

Did you know that up here in New England some people pronounce idea with an R as in idear.

IM4SEVEN, those brackets and fenders look good. I lost a fender on the way back from the Birthday Bash in November. I'm now going to revisit the fender brackets.
I'm thinking yours may work better.

The fender fell off because as I was driving down the road the fender was flapping around. The metal support broke due to it's low tensile strength. Your approach looks promising.
