how bout getting a ride up and going here, it is huge with lots and lots of trails, hills, jumps etc. In fact it is where Yamaha chose to debut the Rhino when it came out if that tells you anything.

would make a good place for a buggy bash also.

We went there the day before the buggy bash this year. Didn't take the buggy, went with the quads, me and my bro-in-law. We got there right before dark (didn't actually pay the fee like we should have) and stayed too long. The trails seem to go on forever back there. Lots of rock, very dusty at the time. We found a trail that took us to the lake and a cool spot where we could drive right to the lake. After it got dark, we realized we had no clue on how to get back and literally drove around for an hour - totally lost. It was kinda spooky and I'm glad I had a full tank. It's like a maze in the dark. Lots of hills and some challenging areas. Not much water or mud that we saw, but again, we only rode for a few hours.

Anyway, you are supposed to pay a fee and then you can camp right on site. I thought the rules were that you couldn't ride after 10:00. I can't remember what kind of amenities were there, but that whole area is very cool and lots to do.

I agree, Turkey Bay is a great place to ride, we usually make it down there 3 or 4 times a year, camp out the weekend. Most of the time we will put 50+ miles on our quads when we go, I took my 150 Talon there for its first ride out and it was a blast, more fun than riding quads, some of the jumps were a little rougher though. As far as riding after dark, we were always told riding stopped at sundown, but I guess if "lost" when the sun goes down you still have to get back to camp Wink .

I wouldn't mind.....set a date and we'll see if we can make it.

I know I can't make it the weekend of Oct 20, 27th and Nov 10th for sure. Prior commitments those weekends.

Keith

Not this year for sure! We just bought a Ford Expedition....that has drained us for the short term. I'd like to buy one next year though! I might hold out for that 600 they keep teasing us with Twisted Evil

Still wanting to get a ride up, how bout first weekend in November Keith?

anybody heard from Kenny? wonder if he has his buggy going again.

I bought another Dazon, hopefully I will have it going by then, I'll bring my nephew or somebody and we can take both of my boys then.

this place can be FUN, (or we could break some stuff?) either way I'm itching to go.

That sounds like a definite possibility. I'll have to check. I haven't heard from Kenny. He camps a lot down at Birdsville near Smithland, so he could be around and we just don't know it. I keep meaning to get his cell # and just keep forgetting it! Evil or Very Mad

good, I'll keep in touch as it gets closer.

Birdsville is where my father-in-law has some acreage, of course he won't let me ride on it, might scare the deer and turkeys Rolling Eyes The way Kenny's website reads there was a whole crew he had together there.

I'm going to have to work this weekend. Not gonna be able to make it. I've had to miss work the last two Thursdays and Fridays and I'm just so backed up that I'm gonna have to get caught up.

I'd like to get another ride in before it gets too cold though. Wanna try to schedule something on the 18th? I'm free that day I'm pretty sure....maybe that will give us a chance to get in touch with Kenny also.

Keith
