By now you are all aware of the passing of our founder, Steve Hopkins. As you may or may not know, Steve had two houses. One he and his family were living in, and one he was trying to fix up and sell. Due to health issues, Sue, Steve's wife, is unable to drive and therefore unable to work. Until probate is settled, Sue does not have access to all the funds available to her. Even then, things will be extremely tight without Steve's income, with the two mortgages. The holidays are rapidly approaching, and those four kids, as well as Sue, are going to have a less than terrific holiday season without their dad. I was hoping, as we are a "family" of sorts, that we could help out by trying to make things a bit easier for them during this period. Sue deserves to grieve the loss of her husband, partner and best friend without the strain and stress of worrying how to pay the bills or where to get the money for Christmas presents. If you are interested in contributing something to the "Hopkins Family Holiday Fund", you can go to paypal.com and send money through there to my account - jlbjpike@cs.com, or send a check payable to either Sue Hopkins or Jamie Pike (all moneys will be forwarded) mailed to my attention at 16 Coit Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts 01040. If you have any questions, you can send me a pm.
You can choose to remain anonymous, or if you wish, I can let Sue know who has contributed, as I am sure she will want to express her gratitude. You all knew Steve. You know he would have given the shirt off his back for any one of us. This is the least we can do for his family. He would do it for ours.
Thank you very much for anything you can contribute.
I think this is an incredibly kind and generous thing you are doing. While I am sure that the thoughts and prayers we have all been sending have been a great comfort to Sue and the kids, I am glad to be able to do something tangible to help. It helps me to heal knowing that I can do something for someone who has done so much for all of us. Thanks for all you do, you are off to a great start continuing what Steve started, in the same spirit.
WOW, that was fast. I want to thank Stu and Berry from Blade Powersports for making a very generous contribution. Thank toy! _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html

You can count on ACBlind and myself to help out with funds. I'll see what I can do to get other memebers of the Northeast Gang to help out as well.
As you are aware I live within 2 hours of the Hopkins family and am willing to help out when and where I can. If you, Sue or someone in her family can let us know what assistance they need, I'll do everything I can to help out.
I've forgotten how old the children are. If we could find that out I'd appreciate it.

Things are really tight for me right now but I might be able to use one of my credit lines to help out. I just have a lot on my plate now with mortgages and all but I will let you know ASAP.
I may also beable to help with the property once the probate is finally. I left my Mortgage company several years ago but I still have contacts with some investors that might be able to bail her out. It's a long shot but I guess it won't hurt to try if she needs help in that area.
I'll drop you a PM with my number so you can give me more info on what she might need and when she needs it buy. _________________ NEBA Member
