I just bought a 1600cc sand viper and when i got it home and was riding it i noticed the front driver shock spraying out fluid. I noticed the air fitting or fill fitting was broke off. i took it to a 4X4 shop and they said they cant fix it. its not under warranty and i really dont want to buy a new shock. can anyone tell me how to fix it or where to get it fixed? please help. also i have contacted joyner many times and they will not return my calls! Please help!

My 1100 had a broken schrader on rear shock when I took delivery. My dealer promptly replace with new shock.
He let me keep the old shock so I drilled, tapped and installed new schrader, pressurized to about 100 lbs and it was good to go.
Just add a little oil through the schrader if you lost a lot.

Like I said, just air works fine. If you really want them nitro charged a motorcycle shop would do it.
But unless your racing and concerned about shock fade then air is more that adequate.
You will probably want to get some limit straps on the shocks.

i am new to this so if this is a stupid Q sorry but the shock was squirting out oil do i need to put more oil in it? or can i just put a new valve on it and fill it with air? if i fill it with air will it affect the ride because im assuming that the front shocks will be set different? i was told by the 4X4 shop that if it got air in it then it will cause real problems. thanx 4 the help!

I think it goes regular air is about 80% nitrogen so when the shocks get hot the pressure goes up and cold the pressure drops so running pure nitrogen does not have this effect.
Race car drivers run nitrogen in there tires for the same reason.

I don't think we could even tell a difference on our buggies. I tried different pressure settings and oil levels and these shocks just ain't that great to even tell.

Just don't run them without any pressure for long because it will damage them.
