Picked it up and the crate had some minor damage...No major damage to the buggy but everything looked like it had come loose and rattled around on each other...This created lots of scrapes and minor dings all over the frame...

Paint: C- for finish
I had ordered silver and what arrived is more of a light Gray...Not bad but not exactly what I expected...
The paint itself seems kind of easy to chip (like most China paint jobs) but seems just a notch worse than my Bro-in-laws Joyner paint...

Build: C
The loose things in transit appear to have done a little damage....Like one of the water hoses had a hole rubbed into it...Was an easy fix though....Couple of wires were loose and got damaged but they're easy to fix also..

As usual with these buggy's, there are a couple things that just are not easy to fit together...But they do eventually...

Misc. nuts and bolts missing, like for the seat mount and the passenger foot rest...

Tires: B
I haven't really run on them yet but the sidewalls say they're 4 ply tread and 2 ply side wall with a knobby pattern....

Shocks: ?
Gotta get in the desert to tell first.

Seat's & Belts: A/F
"A" for the seats which look great and are comfortable...
"F" for the belts which are on back order...I planned to replace them with some "Crow" belts anyway but I still want them as they were listed as part of the deal...

Winch: B
It has been upgraded to the 3000 lbs. version...

Steering: A
Is light to touch and easy to use.

Costs:
Buggy $5500
Receiver (loading fee)$65
Misc nuts/bolts $15 (so far)
Belts around $170
Gear oil $7
Misc shop materials $20
Engine hour meter (to be added soon, est $25)
Hearing it run Priceless.....

Conclusion:
I will hold final overall conclusion until I get some proper off road time on it...It is fun building this buggy and Sean answers the phone if I have a question...He even gives great unsolicited building tips....
Pics and video will be post in Video section as that option is not offered in this review posting...
Oh, and the fenders and mirrors posted on the LJTech site DO come with the buggy....I don't think I'll use them though...

How long did it take you to get your buggy? I know it says 6-8 weeks, but sometimes that's not the case. Also, when I talked to Sean, he said that a guy is setting up a dealership in St. George, so that's good news for those of us in the area.

Mine took 12 weeks ..... Usual first run delays I guess....
A dealer in St. George would be fantastic..... Very Happy

Maiden voyage today....Buggy did good, I had wheel lugs come loose on one tire, might not have gotten tight enough before ride.....

Weather: HOT !!! Was between 105- 108 degress when we went out...

Motor: Ran GREAT... This thing has very good power....The backward shift pattern was pretty easy to get used to...I put in a sealed switch for the radiator fan to be able to turn it on manually...Works good....

Ride: This thing was run through the Southern Nevada desert ....The terrain consisted of dirt, rocks, a little powder, rocks, a couple paved roads, rocks, whoops and a wash full of rocks....

We only drove for a short time but I was very happy with the way this buggy handled everything we encountered.....It would push a little on slow speed turns but once at speed, it handled very well....

Tires: Held up good so far...They just LOOK too small on the rear of this buggy....

I'll post a couple pics in the video file...

Backward shift pattern, what does that mean? They left off some shift cables.

Jim,
Take your 4 speed and put 1st where 4th is, 2nd is where 3rd was, 3rd where 2nd was and 4th is where 1st was...

The two cables can't be switched... All this does is make the shift pattern go sideways !!!

Do you know if the Joyner is this way also ???

There's enough room between the seats and maybe enough cable to turn reorient the shifter to correct this....I'll look closer after everything gets broke in....

The joyner has a different set up on the 1600,
there are only two slots, and you push down for first and second. The shifter recognizes 3 and 4th as default.

I was told it takes some getting used to. Wink

On the lugs, I torque mine to 50lbs. I was warned about going too tight due to snapping a stud.

That's odd, yes my Joyner 650 and 1100 have the normal shift pattern. Sounds like the LJtech is set up for the steering to be on the right side European style and they didnt bother correcting the shift pattern. They don't mention that on the web site.
