Well my love affair with the little Dazon was short lived.

Anyone ever been inside one of these engines, probably not since I have never heard of anyone having any trouble out of them, until me of course.

Took this over to my Dads after Christmas and we were there probably 2 hours, with the boys putting probably 45min actual drive time on the buggy, and whammo, the wheels lock up. It only wants to go in reverse, and only if it is in neutral, and you can't push it backwards at all. The engine runs but the transmission is screwed up big time.

I believe it is similar to a blade 70 as far as transmission, anyone have any insights into splitting the case as it appears I am on my own as far as warranty etc.?!?!

I am assuming a manual for a Honda 50 might be the way to go for this engine? Is that correct?

thanks

is there a plug or allen head bolt above the sprocket?

if so, remove the plug, put a wrench on the bolt turn while rocking the kart. it may just be jammed

the engine looks identical, has the plug like yours.

I will try what you say, I guess there is a nut/bolt under there?

of course I already pulled the engine last night, but it sure would be nice if it was that simple!

thanks!!!!

the blade's have an allen bolt. there's a built in safety, if get down shifted while going to fast or pulled into reverse, it's supposed to lock up to keep from damaging the tranny.

Raider 90 riders,
Please do a search by author for posts by petez racing, I have had my engine apart many times. Yes a Honda CRF50/80 engine manual and many parts will work. This is one nice engine and can be modified to gain huge power.

I will update (new post)our new install of the oil temperature sensor and gauge soon.

Have a great day

P.S. There is only the one oil fill and drain for both the engine and tranny.
